Mel and Mal's Butter Cream

  • 75g butter
  • 200g of sifted icing sugar (keep 25g back for sifting over the top when you have finished decorating)

A traditional filler for all sorts of cakes - either use inside cakes as a filler or on top as decoration

Go wild and try out a piping bag - just ensure that the mix is thick enough to cope with coming through a nozzle and get practising!!

Simply cream the butter and icing sugar together with an electric whisk until the mixture has a firm but pliable consistency, enough so that you can either get it into a piping bag or smooth in between 2 cakes or on top for decoration
