Fruit adds sweetness to any dish - but how to use it is the question.
Bananas ripen very quickly and if put in a fruit bowl with other fruit, they speed up the ripening process overall.
You can buy a handy thing called a Banana Hanger, available from good cookshops, which suspends the bananas, allows air circulation and slows down the ripening process.
If you keep your bananas away from other fruit, both those and your other fruit will last alot longer.
My other tip is that you only buy what you will eat over 2/3 days or if buying in large quantities, choose those with a green tinge to the skins as these will ripen as the days go by.
Avocado - one of the best foods for a healthy diet.
The properties of an avocado pear are very similar to that of olive oil - lots of good fats, helping to lower cholesterol, are packed with fibre and antioxidants, to keep the bad out and the good in!
This fruit also helps the body to absorb more nutrients from the other foods being eaten at the same time.
